Bio

Ben Davila is a prolific songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has written and recorded hundreds of original songs in a career spanning decades. His music has been used in plays, movies, advertisements, and video games.

As an instructor, Ben Davila teaches songwriting for NMC’s Continuing Education program. He was the co-founder of The Rock Stop School of Music, where he served as lead teacher. Prior to moving to Traverse City in 2014, he spent nearly a decade teaching private lessons and ensembles at The Bird School of Music in San Francisco.

As a skilled audio technician, Ben Davila enjoys producing and recording other artists as well as his own original work.

When he isn’t teaching, writing, or recording, Ben Davila enjoys performing live music as Paul McCartney in the Beatles tribute band Did a Pony, with the events and wedding band The Decibelz, and with his own live band, Ben Davila and the Powers That Be.

Ben Davila graduated with degrees in Music and Sound Technology from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.

Outside of music, Ben enjoys science, cooking, literature, and nature.
